Decommissioning of Former SEI Survey System (CoursEval)

The former survey system CoursEval, which housed SEI surveys conducted prior to Winter 2018, will be decommissioned on December 19, 2025. After the end of day December 19, the system URL and login will no longer be accessible. Historical reports and data have been fully archived by the SEI Support Team.

This page outlines how instructors and unit administrators can request legacy SEI reports or data.

Do I Need to Take Any Action?

No action is needed unless you require a legacy report. All survey activity from 2018 to the present can be accessed in the current survey system, Blue (https://seoi.ubc.ca/reports), and only pre-2018 materials require a request.

Accessing Legacy Reports or Data

If you need access to any legacy (pre-2018W) survey materials, please submit a request at sei.support@ubc.ca.

For individual course or individual instructor, we can provide:

  • Original PDF reports (as they were generated at the time), or
  • Simplified Tableau reports, which include the updated UBC-supported metrics (interpolated median, percent favourable, and dispersion index) that are not available in the original PDFs.

Information to Include in Your Request

To help us locate reports quickly, please include:

  • Instructor name
  • Course number and section(s)
  • Year/term

Legacy PDF reports are archived by instructor and course, so we are unable to provide bulk reports for an entire unit in a single request.

How We Share Legacy Reports

When we receive your request:

  1. We will verify your access.
    • Instructors requesting their own materials will be approved.
    • Unit administrators must have confirmed unit-level access before data can be shared.
  2. We will deliver the files via OneDrive.
  3. Shared links will include an access-expiry date to support data privacy.
  4. Access instructions and expiration details will be included in the message you receive.

Response Timelines

Our typical turnaround time for legacy report requests is within 5 business days.

Please note: during active SEI survey periods, response time may be slightly longer as we prioritize current-term survey support.
